SpeakEasy N.O.W.

SpeakEasy N.O.W. is a member-led charity dedicated to empowering people with learning disabilities to have a voice and influence local services. Run by and for people with learning disabilities, we work across Worcestershire and Herefordshire to ensure our members are involved in shaping the services that affect their lives.

We offer a range of services and opportunities, including:

  • Self-Advocacy Groups: Regular meetings across Worcestershire where members can gain confidence, speak up about what matters to them, and connect with others.
  • Expert Members: Supporting the work of Worcestershire County Council and other organisations to improve services for people with learning disabilities.
  • Health Checkers: Ensuring health services meet the needs of the community through surveys, presentations, and feedback.
  • Easy Read Translation Service: Making information accessible for people with learning disabilities.
  • Learning Disability Awareness Training: Helping organisations improve their service for customers with learning disabilities.
  • People’s Parliament: Holding public debates and workshops on issues important to our members.

We collaborate with local councils, the NHS, colleges, and other organisations to promote inclusion, confidence, and self-advocacy. Our activities are designed to help members build skills, make friends, and speak up for their rights.

Get involved: Join a SpeakUp Group, become an Expert Member, or participate in our People’s Parliament. We welcome new members and organisations who want to work with us to improve services for people with learning disabilities.
