Volunteering at Community Furniture Stores

Community Furniture Stores offer a welcoming and supportive environment for anyone interested in volunteering, gaining work experience, or joining a workshop program. We provide placements in all our stores for people who are long-term unemployed, face barriers to employment, or simply want to give back to their community.

Our aim is to help you build confidence, develop new skills, and improve your CV. Many of our volunteers move into employment or further learning opportunities, and some even progress into paid roles within our charity.

We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, including those with physical or learning disabilities, an offending history, or those re-skilling after time out of work. Every applicant is considered individually to ensure the best fit for you and our team. We carry out full risk assessments to ensure a safe and positive experience for everyone.

Volunteer roles are available in:

  • Customer service and retail
  • Stock management in stores and warehouses
  • Multi-drop delivery in the community
  • Participation in our workshop programs

We offer flexible hours to fit around your commitments and can coordinate with other agencies if needed. All volunteers must be at least 18 years old. While we support those with substance or dependency issues, we cannot allow anyone to be under the influence while on the premises.

Ready to join us? Fill out our volunteering form on our website to apply. If you have questions, please contact your nearest store for more information.
