Staying Active (Huntingdonshire)

Staying Active is a 9-week activity programme in Huntingdonshire designed to help residents aged 55 and over become more active, improve mobility, socialise, and enhance overall wellbeing. The programme includes group activities such as functional movement classes, healthy eating, wellbeing walks, exercise classes, adapted sports, and team games, delivered at leisure centres and community venues across the district. Participants also receive a free 90-day offer to use One Leisure facilities for activities like badminton, indoor cycling, gym, exercise classes, and swimming. Eligibility criteria require participants to be at least 55 years old and meet two of the following: starting exercise for the first time or after a sustained period of inactivity; needing support with daily activities; finding daily tasks challenging; feeling unsteady on their feet but not yet fallen; developing balance problems or muscle weakness; having long-term health conditions (e.g., arthritis, osteoporosis, hypotension); or presenting for medical attention due to a fall or recurrent falls in the past year.
