National Centre for Domestic Violence

The National Centre for Domestic Violence (NCDV) offers a fast, free emergency injunction service for anyone at risk of domestic abuse or violence, regardless of financial situation, ethnicity, gender, or sexuality.

What We Do:

  • Emergency Legal Protection: Apply for an emergency court injunction if you have recently experienced or been threatened with domestic abuse. We help those who cannot access or afford legal aid funding.
  • Rapid Response: Once a referral is received, we aim to make contact the next working day. Our streamlined process means orders are often issued quickly and effectively.
  • Free Advice & Information: Immediate advice is available via our helpline (0800 970 2070) and website. We also signpost to other support services.
  • Legal Support: We help you obtain an emergency injunction within 24 hours from first contact.
  • Training: Free training for police and agencies nationwide, delivered by specialist trainers.
  • Collaboration: We work closely with police, solicitors, and support agencies such as Refuge and Women’s Aid to help victims obtain speedy protection.
