Papyrus

PAPYRUS Prevention of Young Suicide is the UK charity dedicated to preventing suicide and promoting positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people under 35. We believe that no young person should have to struggle alone with thoughts of suicide.

HOPELINE247 is our free, confidential, non-judgmental suicide prevention helpline, available 24/7 via phone, text, email, and webchat. Our trained advisers offer support to young people, concerned others, and professionals every day, helping you talk openly about your thoughts and find practical ways to stay safe.

  • Support for young people under 35 experiencing thoughts of suicide
  • Help for anyone concerned about a young person who may be struggling
  • Resources and advice including coping techniques, conversation starters, distraction techniques, and guidance for parents and professionals
  • Digital safety planning via our secure HOPELINK platform, accessible 24/7
  • Education and training for individuals, schools, and communities to create suicide-safer environments

PAPYRUS also offers fundraising opportunities, events, and volunteering roles to help build suicide-safer communities across the UK. Our services are accessible to all, with additional support available for those who need BSL or language line assistance.

All services are free and confidential. If you or someone you know needs help, please reach out to HOPELINE247 for immediate support.
