Marie Curie offers a range of free, compassionate services for people living with a terminal illness and their families across South East England.

Our support is available in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, East Berkshire, Kent, West Sussex, Surrey, and Hampshire. We provide:

  • Marie Curie Companions: Trained volunteers offer practical and emotional support in care homes, community spaces, at home, or over the phone. This includes companionship, help with advance care planning, and support for families and carers.
  • Hospice Care at Home: Our nurses and healthcare assistants deliver clinical, practical, and emotional care in the comfort of your own home. We support both patients and those close to them, offering reassurance, information, and respite.
  • Overnight care is available in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, East Kent, West Kent, West Sussex, Fareham, and Gosport, and in partnership with Thames Hospice. Daytime care is available in Fareham and Gosport.
  • Online Community: Connect with others affected by terminal illness or bereavement for peer support and shared experiences, accessible from home.

Service access criteria:
  • Anyone diagnosed with any terminal illness (not just cancer)
  • Anyone identified in their last year of life
  • Anyone caring for someone terminally ill or in their last year of life
  • Anyone with a terminal illness (and their carers) experiencing difficulties paying energy bills
  • Anyone in need of bereavement support (recent or historic)
