Learning Disabilities Weight Management Service

Enable Leisure and Culture runs the Learning Disabilities Weight Management Service for adults in Bexley, Bromley and the Royal Borough of Greenwich. The programme is funded by the South East London Integrated Care System (ICS) and aims to help adults with learning disabilities lead healthier lives through sustainable lifestyle changes. It combines physical activity, nutritional education and behaviour change in a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive environment. The service is designed to reduce health inequalities and to support participants and their carers to achieve long-term healthy eating and activity habits. Who can take part - Adults with learning disabilities in Bexley, Bromley and the Royal Borough of Greenwich - Over 18 years old - Mild or moderate learning disability - BMI over 30, or over 27.5 if you’re from a Black, Asian or minority background Exclusions - Pregnancy - History of an eating disorder - Anyone not meeting the above eligibility criteria How to refer - Anyone eligible can be referred; individuals can self-refer or someone on their behalf can refer with their consent - Health professionals can refer via their internal referral system or the link provided on the page (Learning Disability Adult Weight Management – Enable) - For referral queries, please email enable.bbg@nhs.net with a completed referral form How to opt in 1) Click the ‘Make a referral’ tab 2) Click ‘continue, I don’t have a Joy account’ 3) Choose ‘I am signing up myself’ or ‘I am referring someone else’ and enter the details 4) Submit and Enable will be in contact Taster sessions Taster sessions are available for organisations in Bexley, Bromley or Greenwich that support people with learning disabilities who want to try the programme.
