BEAT

Beat is the UK's leading eating disorder charity, dedicated to supporting anyone affected by eating disorders. We offer a wide range of free and confidential services for individuals, families, carers, and professionals.

Our support includes:

  • Get in touch by phone, web chat, email, or social media for compassionate advice and information.
  • Online chatrooms: Connect with others who understand your situation in a safe, moderated space.
  • Resources: Access free downloads, self-help guides, GP forms, and practical information to help you or someone you care about.
  • Peer support for carers: Our POD (Peer Support and Online Development) platform offers workshops, courses, and forums for those supporting someone with an eating disorder.
  • Training for schools and professionals: Our SPOT elearning platform helps school staff support pupils into treatment quickly, with interactive modules and expert webinars.
  • Awareness and advocacy: We campaign for better access to treatment and raise awareness that eating disorders can affect anyone, at any time.

We support people of all ages, backgrounds, and genders, including men and boys, and those with less well-known eating disorders such as ARFID. Our services are available across the UK and online, so you can access help wherever you are.

No one should face an eating disorder alone. Whether you are seeking help for yourself or supporting someone else, Beat is here for you every step of the way.

Cost: All support services are free to access. Some training events and workshops may have a fee (e.g. £42 for specialist workshops), but most resources and helplines are free.

Get started: Visit our website to find information, join a chatroom, access resources, or contact our helpline. You can also get involved in fundraising, volunteering, or campaigning to support our work.
