Mental Health Workshops for Diverse Youth and Asylum Seekers
Based in Kent, Fort-4-Youth Foundation. Founded by Lyse Niyonzima Specialist Psychiatric Nurse with CAMHS Expertise.
Mental health is essential to well-being, yet it’s sometimes overlooked in the lives of immigrants and asylum seekers. At Fort-4-Youth, we understand these challenges and work tirelessly to provide resources that honour each person’s experiences and cultural background.
Fort 4 Youth exists to promote culturally sensitive, person-centred mental health support for diverse communities and asylum seekers aged 16 to 25. We believe in creating safe, welcoming spaces where young people can share their experiences, find community, and reduce isolation.
We are currently offering services in Medway -
Groups meet online using Zoom. The program will consist of:
Interactive Workshops: Covering topics such as stress management, emotional regulation, self-care practices, and building confidence.
Creative Therapy Sessions: Utilising art, music, craft, sewing and storytelling to encourage emotional expression and healing.
Peer Support Circles: Facilitated discussions to foster mutual understanding, reduce isolation, and build community.
Resource Access: Providing participants with information on mental health services and tools for ongoing support.
We also offer one to one support and are happy to meet people at Strood Sports Centre where we have a quite private room to talk together.
