Equine Connection at The Grove Riding School offers therapeutic equine interaction sessions designed for elderly people and those living with dementia, as well as their carers and family members. Our peaceful, calm surroundings and gentle horses provide a unique opportunity to connect with nature and enjoy meaningful moments.
Studies show that being around horses can:
- Reduce stress and anxiety
- Improve mood, increase verbalisation, and reduce depression
- Encourage enjoyment of the present moment
- Promote physical activity
- Foster socialising and interaction with others
Our sessions are flexible and tailored to each individual’s needs. You can:
- Groom, lead, feed, or stroke the horses in a safe arena with skilled staff
- Observe the horses from a distance if preferred
- Enjoy walks in our fields and woods
- Explore a sensory-rich tack room
- Relax in a quiet space with cream tea or refreshments
All are welcome to join us and experience the benefits of equine interaction. Our focus is on helping you feel better and enjoy the moment, regardless of memory or ability.
Sessions run on Monday during term time. To find out more or to book, please contact us by email or phone.
