Keep your walking aid safe and effective with free ferrule checks and replacements across Medway.
A ferrule is the small rubber base at the end of a walking stick or walking frame. It provides stability, absorbs shock, and helps prevent slips and falls. Worn ferrules can increase your risk of falling, especially for older adults.
Why check your ferrule?
- Worn ferrules can lead to serious injury, loss of mobility, independence, and confidence.
- Falls are a major cause of emergency hospital admissions for older people.
- Regular checks (every 3 months) and timely replacement help keep you safe.
