The Armed Forces Community Project from Havering Mind is a dedicated mental health and wellbeing support programme for the Armed Forces community. This includes service personnel, veterans, reservists, cadet force adult volunteers, and their partners and children.
We understand the unique challenges faced by the Armed Forces community, such as mental health struggles, social isolation, and limited access to targeted resources. Our service is designed to help families feel supported and connected within their community.
What We Offer:
- Initial assessments and action plans to help identify needs and set goals.
- Wellbeing Programme that empowers participants with coping strategies, stress management techniques, and practical tools for improving mental health. Delivered in group settings, it encourages peer learning and shared experiences.
- Group and 1-1 support tailored to individual and family needs.
- Tailored information and signposting to other supportive services.
- Workshops and volunteering opportunities to build skills and confidence.
- Peer groups and family events that reduce isolation by creating safe spaces for social connection and shared understanding, reinforcing a sense of community.
