Free Singing Programme for Postnatal Wellbeing (Lambeth)

Breathe Melodies for Mums – Free Singing Programme for Postnatal Wellbeing

Breathe Melodies for Mums is a free, evidence-based 10-week group singing programme designed to support new mothers experiencing low mood, anxiety, or postnatal depression.

Developed from ground-breaking research by the Royal College of Music and Imperial College London, the programme has been shown to:

  • Reduce symptoms of postnatal depression more quickly than usual care
  • Improve maternal wellbeing, confidence, and social support
  • Strengthen bonding between mother and baby

Sessions are led by trained professional singing leaders in a warm, safe, and non-judgemental environment. No prior musical experience is required. Mothers can attend with their babies (aged 0–9 months) and benefit from both the music and the peer connection.
