Totnes Caring offers a friendly and reliable transport service for older people in Totnes and the surrounding areas.
Staying connected and accessing essential healthcare is vital as we age. Our transport service helps older people who are frail, have mobility issues, or health conditions that make public transport difficult. We provide door-to-door journeys to health appointments (such as hospitals, GP surgeries, dentists, opticians) and to Totnes Caring social activities.
- Volunteer drivers use their own cars, our minibus, or a wheelchair accessible vehicle (WAV).
- We aim to make every journey comfortable and stress-free.
- Our service helps you stay part of your community and maintain your independence.
How to book:
- Contact us as soon as possible to book your transport. We require at least 48 hours’ notice for appointments, and as much notice as possible for cancellations.
- We do our best to find a driver for every request, but availability depends on our team of volunteers.
Cost: We do not receive direct funding for these journeys and rely on your donations to cover costs. Suggested donations (return trip from Totnes Town):
- Totnes: £8
- Paignton: £17
- Torbay: £18
