Grief Kind Spaces are free, weekly, in-person drop-in sessions run by Sue Ryder and held in local communities across England. These sessions are designed to provide a safe, informal, and supportive place for anyone who has experienced bereavement to come together, share their experiences of grief, and feel heard and less alone.
Each Grief Kind Space is hosted by trained volunteers who understand the challenges of grief. The sessions are not formal counselling, but offer a warm, welcoming environment where you can talk, listen, and connect with others who understand what you’re going through.
- No need to book – just drop in during the listed times.
- Free to attend and open to all adults who have experienced a bereavement, regardless of when or how it happened.
- Locations include community centres, cafes, garden centres, and other accessible venues across multiple counties.
If you need more formal support, volunteers can signpost you to other Sue Ryder services, including Online Bereavement Support and local support groups. If you can’t find a Grief Kind Space near you, you can join the Online Bereavement Community to connect with others from anywhere.
There is no cost to attend Grief Kind Spaces. Sessions are open to all, and you do not need to be referred or have used Sue Ryder services before.
