REACH Women is a 12-week beginner climbing programme designed to support women’s physical and emotional wellbeing in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment.
This programme is for women who may be navigating hormonal changes, gynaecological health challenges, trauma, confidence barriers or life transitions, and who would benefit from gentle, structured support through movement and connection.
Sessions take place at an indoor climbing wall and combine:
• Beginner-friendly climbing instruction
• Guided confidence building
• Space for conversation and peer connection
• Trauma-informed facilitation
• Optional reflective exercises
• Support around women’s health and hormonal wellbeing
The programme is delivered by qualified climbing instructors alongside a licensed therapist with a Masters in Counselling and Psychology. The therapeutic element is supportive and educational in nature – it is not a replacement for clinical therapy – but sessions are grounded in psychological safety and nervous-system-informed practice.
No previous climbing experience is needed. All equipment is provided.
REACH Women aims to help participants:
• Build confidence and self-belief
• Improve physical strength and body awareness
• Develop supportive peer connections
• Feel safer and more at ease in their bodies
• Try something new in a supported way
The environment is welcoming, paced and beginner-friendly. You do not need to be “fit” to join.
• Open to women aged 18+
• No previous climbing experience required
• Suitable for beginners
• Participants should be medically safe to take part in light to moderate physical activity
• This is not a crisis mental health service
• Not a substitute for 1:1 psychotherapy
