Community Kitchen

CDARS Community Kitchen Service is a vital support for people in South West London who are struggling with food poverty and social isolation. We provide free nutritious meals to those in need, helping over 300 clients each year.

Our service is based at St Mungo’s Wellbeing Centre in Wandsworth, where we collaborate with the 'Putting Down Roots' project to teach vulnerable people how to plant and grow vegetables. We also link with CDARS’s allotment service to promote healthy eating and community engagement.

What we offer:

  • Free meal services for local residents facing food insecurity
  • Cooking and food shopping classes for marginalized individuals
  • Volunteer opportunities for people who face employment barriers, helping them gain vital skills and work experience

Our Community Kitchen was created as a rapid response during lockdown to support isolated clients, and has now become a permanent service thanks to its positive impact.

Who can access the service?

  • Residents of Merton, Sutton, Wandsworth, Kingston, and Richmond
  • Aged 16 years or over
  • Struggling to feed themselves due to poverty
