The Unclaimed Benefit Campaign & Hub Service is a collaborative money management initiative developed by the Middlesbrough Financial Inclusion Group (FIG) and funded by Middlesbrough Council. Its goal is to help people in Middlesbrough make sure they are claiming the correct benefits and to simplify the benefit system so everyone knows what they are entitled to.
What does the service offer?
- One-to-one advice sessions to help you understand your benefit entitlement.
- Guidance to navigate the complex benefits system.
- Support in connecting with other advice and support services as needed.
Between April 2022 and March 2023, the service provided benefit advice to 1,253 Middlesbrough residents, helping them claim an estimated £5,214,790.10 in benefits—an average of £4,161.84 per person.
