Supported Self Help is a free, short-term guided self-help programme from Derbyshire Mind, designed to empower adults to discover tools that support and improve their mental health.
This service is ideal for anyone in Derbyshire who is starting to experience symptoms of worsening mental health, such as stress, low mood, bereavement, worry, or low self-esteem. You do not need a formal diagnosis to access support.
How it works:
- After a simple assessment, you’ll be matched with a friendly Mental Health Practitioner.
- Receive weekly one-to-one check-in sessions, either by phone, video call, or in person (for Derby City residents).
- Access specially designed materials and CBT tools to help you build a personalised toolkit for your wellbeing.

- Anxiety and panic attacks
- Coping with grief and loss
- Loneliness and feeling lonely
- Low self-esteem
- Low mood and depression
- Managing anger
- Managing stress
- Understanding menopause
Who can use this service?
- Adults (18+) living in Derbyshire
- No need for a mental health diagnosis or existing treatment plan
Access: Self-referral is available via an online form. If you need help completing the form, you can contact a practitioner by email. The service is not a crisis service and does not replace support from your GP or emergency services.
Cost: This service is free, funded by the National Lottery Reaching Communities Grant.
