The Last Orders Project from Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland is dedicated to raising awareness about the risks associated with alcohol and substance misuse among people over the age of 50.
We offer free workshops and interactive sessions in community locations, focusing on the importance of safe and responsible drinking. Our sessions provide older people with easy access to a wide range of information, including:
- Understanding the importance of safe drinking
- Information about the risks of mixing alcohol with medication
- Awareness of the dangers of other substance misuse
- Wellbeing and prevention initiatives for those at risk
Our interactive workshops encourage participants to recognise potential dangers and triggers related to alcohol and substance use. We also offer home visits with a volunteer in recovery, providing non-judgemental information, advice, and links to other support services for individuals, carers, and families.
Who can benefit?
- Anyone over 50 concerned about their own or someone else's alcohol or substance use
- Community groups interested in hosting a workshop
How to access:
- Contact us by phone or email to discuss your needs or to arrange a workshop for your group
- All services are free of charge
We work in partnership with Turning Point to deliver this project and are committed to providing non-judgemental, supportive, and confidential help.
