YANA is a completely free four-part offering for 16-29 year olds who have attempted suicide in the last 12 months, centred around a comprehensive 6-month dialectical behavioural therapy programme with lifelong aftercare resources available afterwards.
The four components of the YANA programme are:
The initial, opt-in commitment-based programme comprising approximately 24 weeks of online Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills Groups, with additional phone coaching available, and emphasis on practical skills to tolerate distress, regulate emotions and improve interpersonal relationships.
A DBT Graduate Pathway programme, including a volunteering programme to help solidify both the DBT skills learned and the healing/recovery effect of the initial six month group, with an abundance of opportunities for graduates to further build their life worth living and improve real workplace experience and transferable skills.
'Braver Together' - a 12-week DBT skills support programme for either; a chosen loved one of a member of the YANA programme; or any person living alongside someone who is suicidal. The aims are to empower loved ones with skills to better take care of themselves and be there for their loved one, and to help them understand their own responses.
'Mindset' - Body & Soul's digital resource for young people to improve mental health and wellbeing, through free, live, online sessions, content on instagram and youtube, videos, animations and podcasts - to help members further solidify the skills and develop their own resilience.
