The Friendship Alliance is a collaborative initiative led by The Link Visiting Scheme, Age UK Berkshire, Involve Community Services, and the Wokingham Volunteer Centre. Our mission is to tackle loneliness and improve the mental and physical wellbeing of residents in Wokingham Borough.
We bring people together through a network of Friendship Tables hosted at local cafes, churches, libraries, and community spaces. These are welcoming places where anyone can drop in for a chat, make new friends, and feel part of the community. We also run a weekly Friendship Cafe online via Zoom, making it easy for people to join from home—no account needed, just click the link we send you.
Our Friendship Champions help promote our services, encourage friendships, and foster community spirit. We welcome carers, support workers, and their clients, and are especially keen to meet people with learning disabilities, autism, or anyone who may feel isolated.
- Regular in-person Friendship Tables across Wokingham Borough
