Handy Person Service

The Handy Person Support service is available to ensure disabled and vulnerable members of our community are able to retain their independence in their own home. Our Handy Person Operative will supply and fit a range of free physical adaptions and low-level improvements to homes including grab rails and key safes.

In addition, our Help at Home Support Worker will also ensure beneficiaries are aware of all the other support services that we provide, together with those of the council and our other partners.

The service enables those most vulnerable in our community to live more independently and safely within their homes. Importantly, it improves the individual’s health and wellbeing whilst minimising avoidable hospital admissions and helping to facilitate early discharge.

Service access criteria: Must be a home owner or in private rented property (this service cannot help council house tenants)
