The Great Friendship Project

The Great Friendship Project is dedicated to tackling loneliness among young adults by creating opportunities for genuine connection and lasting friendships. Through a vibrant mix of community activities, campaigns, and research, we help young people build meaningful relationships and reduce social isolation.

What we offer:

  • Regular Social Walks to explore the city and meet new people
  • Board Games Nights for fun and friendly competition
  • Activity Nights featuring a variety of group experiences
  • Social Picnics in local parks
  • Music Nights to enjoy and share musical interests
  • Fitness Nights for staying active together
  • Craft Nights to get creative and learn new skills
  • Pub Quizzes for a relaxed, social evening

Our community is made up of over 45,000 young adults who have found friendship, support, and a sense of belonging through our events. 77% of attendees have built friendships, and 73% of regulars report reduced social isolation.

Whether you’re new to the area, looking to expand your social circle, or simply want to try something new, everyone is welcome. Join us to connect with like-minded people, explore new experiences, and create lasting memories.

All activities are designed to be inclusive, friendly, and supportive. There is no membership fee, and most events are free or low-cost. Check our website for upcoming activities and details.
