Spade - Gardening Support

Do you need some extra help with your gardening?

Are you “green-fingered” and able to help someone with their garden?

Spade is our award-winning gardening service which provides basic gardening maintenance to disabled and older people in the borough. A team of talented volunteer gardeners carry out tasks who are dedicated to conserving the local environment and to enabling disabled people to get the most out of their garden.  Volunteers carry out tasks such as weeding, mowing the lawn, pruning and raking leaves. We welcome both experienced volunteers and beginners.

What the service provides

Our Spade gardening service support people to enjoy their gardens again. A volunteer visits the garden to help clear it up of overgrown plants, grass, and weeds. Our capacity to take on new clients is limited at present.

We have a £30 suggested donation for up to two and a half hours work to help us cover costs. We also welcome any contributions and donations, including of unused tools and gardening equipment, to support our work.
