Clay Farm Community Garden is a beautiful, welcoming space in Trumpington, Cambridge, where you can enjoy spending time in nature, connect with others, and get involved in a range of community activities.
What you can do:
- Volunteer in the garden and take part in activities such as coffee mornings, garden parties, and nature spotting events.
- Enjoy the outdoors, which can help boost your mood and reduce stress.
- Build a sense of community and make new friends.
- Take part in mindful exercise through gardening, which can give you a real sense of achievement.
Facilities:
- The garden is open 24 hours a day and features lawns, sweeping paths, planted borders, raised beds, seating areas, a vegetable plot, and fruit trees.
- It is fully accessible, with wide paths and a disabled toilet available when the garden building is open.
- A resident pop-up coffee cart sells coffee, tea, and pastries most Monday to Saturday (8:30am - 2pm).
- Garden parties with local food trucks are held on some Thursday evenings—check the website for upcoming dates.
Getting involved:
- New volunteers are always welcome for watering, weeding, planting, and bigger projects. All equipment and tools are provided.
- If you want to help, visit the garden and speak to a volunteer, or email info@clayfarmgarden.org.
- You can also join the Action Group on WhatsApp to help plan activities, or get involved in organising events.

Cost: Using the garden and attending community events is free. It is also free to use the garden for private parties with prior arrangement. Food and drink are available to purchase in the garden.
