Allotment at Clay Farm - Trumpington Street Medical Practice

Join the Gardening for Health allotment group at Clay Farm! This friendly and relaxed activity is open to all patients of Trumpington Street Medical Practice, including Clay Farm Medical Centre. Meet outdoors with fellow patients and staff to grow vegetables, enjoy fresh air, and connect with others in a peaceful setting.

Why join?

  • Spending time outdoors can boost your mood and reduce stress.
  • Gardening is great physical exercise and gives a real sense of achievement.
  • It's a wonderful way to meet new people and work together towards a common goal.

What to expect:

  • The group runs from March to October, meeting on Saturdays from 11:30am to 1pm at Plot 38, Clay Farm Allotments.
  • All patients are welcome to join and help as much as they are able.
  • You'll be greeted by friendly volunteers who will show you the different tasks and help you get started.
  • There is a raised bed for those who can't bend, and light jobs are available.
  • The site is wheelchair accessible (paths are rough gravel).
  • Any vegetables you help grow can be taken home, and leftovers are donated to a local Food Hub.

Getting started:

  • Email ppgallotment@gmail.com to let the group know which Saturday you'll be coming, or simply turn up at Plot 38.
  • Wear old, comfortable clothes suitable for gardening. Tools and gloves are provided.
  • Parking is available at Clay Farm Community Garden (Pinnington Close), Hobson Avenue, or Hobson Square.
  • An accessible toilet is available about 5 minutes' walk away at Clay Farm Community Garden.

Cost: Volunteering at the allotment is free, and you can take home the vegetables you grow.
