Adventure Therapy provides outdoor and adventure-led activities for children, young people, and adults living with unique health conditions, impairments, or limitations. Our programmes are designed to make a positive difference in challenging and complex lives, supporting people with:
- Mental health conditions
- Learning disabilities or difficulties
- Physical disabilities
- Life-threatening or life-shortening illnesses
- Life-changing conditions
We place the person referred at the centre of everything we do. If beneficial, our activities may also extend to siblings. We work with professionals from the NHS, Social Services, schools, colleges, charities, and community organisations, but private referrals are also welcome from adults or parents/legal guardians of children or vulnerable adults.
Our Wilderness Project for Men offers free hiking groups and opportunities to try kayaking, surfing, bushcraft, and archery, focusing on improving men's mental health and wellbeing. No medical diagnosis is required—just reach out and join us.
Our charity supports children aged 8+, young people, and adults in Devon and Somerset (mainly Taunton Deane and surrounding communities), with a limited number of activities available in North Cornwall.
How to Refer:
- Professional referrals: If you are a registered partner, you can refer directly. If not, email us to register—it's free and straightforward.
- Personal referrals: Self-referrals are accepted, or parents/guardians can refer for children and vulnerable adults. We encourage professional referrals to ensure activities are free of charge.
All referrals are subject to confirmation that our activities are suitable and safe for the individual, based on age and health condition. Our instructors must be satisfied that participation is practical and safe.
Start a new adventure today—complete a referral and let us help you or someone you care about experience the benefits of adventure therapy.
