South Wales Valleys Phone Group - RNIB Community Connection

RNIB Connect Cymru Telephone Groups offer a range of friendly, welcoming telephone-based social groups for blind and partially sighted people across Wales. These groups are designed to help you connect with others, share experiences, and enjoy lively conversations from the comfort of your own home.

Current groups include:

  • South Wales Valleys Phone Group: Every Friday, 2pm–3pm. For people living in the South Wales Valleys.
  • All Wales Chat Group: Every Thursday, 2pm–3pm. Open to anyone living in Wales.
  • Sports Chat: First Tuesday of the month, 2pm–3pm. Chat about sport with fellow enthusiasts.
  • Listening Book Group: Third Tuesday of the month, 2pm–3pm. Enjoy readings and poems together.
  • Wales and South West Working Age Group: Fortnightly Thursdays, 6:30pm–8pm. For people aged 18–50.
  • TV and Film Group: Fortnightly Wednesdays, 2pm–3pm. Watch and discuss TV programmes or films.
  • Rusty Welsh Speakers: Fortnightly Wednesdays, 10:30am. For Welsh speakers wanting to improve conversational skills.
  • Art Club, UK: Every Monday, 11am–12pm. Share your passion for the arts in a supportive space.
  • Women with Vision (external group): First Thursday of the month, 1pm–2pm. For young blind or partially sighted women from diverse backgrounds.

There are also Talk and Support National telephone chat groups offering book groups and special interest groups at various times.
