Ham & Petersham SOS

Ham and Petersham SOS is the local neighborhood care group for elderly and disabled residents of Ham and Petersham. We provide transport, weekly activities, monthly outings, and practical help.

Activities and Services:

  • Petersham Nurseries Coffee. Held on the first Tuesday of every month from 10am-11:30am the community is welcome to join SOS members, volunteers and staff for a slice of cake and a cup of tea or coffee.
  • Shopping bus service.  This weekly minibus service picks you up from home and takes you to Sainsbury's in Kingston on a Thursday morning.  Volunteers will then help you with your shopping into the minibus, and then on into your home once you are back at your address.
  • Monthly Outings.  On the 2nd Tuesday of every month we visit a variety of venues, the Coast, museums, shopping centres and places of interest.
  • Monthly Coffee Morning at Petersham Nurseries.  Petersham Nurseries, a local plant nursery invites members of Ham & Petersham SOS to socialise whilst enjoying a hot drink & a slice of cake, every first Tuesday of the month (excluding August).  Take the opportunity whilst there to browse their homeware & garden shops, & see their interesting selection of plants, tools & garden accessories.
  • Volunteer car transport. Volunteer car transport to and from appointments such as hospital, GP, Clinic, Hairdressers and clubs.
