Community Respiratory and Home Oxygen Service

What does this service offer?
At our specialist respiratory and oxygen service, we understand the challenges that come with living with chronic lung conditions. We are committed to enhancing the quality of life and care for our patients. Our warm and compassionate team led by a clinical nurse specialist is here to provide you with thorough assessments, including Spirometry, oxygen assessments, and treatment plans, to ensure that you receive the best care possible.

Our services are available at our clinic venues or through home visits, and we operate from Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm. We are here for you, and we will do everything in our power to help you feel supported and cared for.

We provide:
Urgent unwell service with same day reviews for unwell patients provided Monday to Friday 08:30 t0 16:00
Routine patient assessments for housebound patients (home visits) including: clinical objective assessment, spirometry and pulse oximetry
We hold the following clinics at Sittingbourne Memorial Hospital and Sheppey Community Hospital:
Routine patient assessment (in clinic)
Oxygen assessment clinics – capillary blood gas sampling
Telephone advice
How do I access this service?
You will need a referral to the service by your GP or other healthcare professional. Once the referral has been received, it will be triaged by the Respiratory Team and you will be sent a letter to attend clinic at one of the locations listed above or a phone call to arrange a home visit as appropriate.
