Our Social Connection & Companionship service helps people feel less alone and more supported in everyday life. We understand that loneliness and isolation can have a big impact on mental and physical health, so we provide a friendly, reliable presence as well as links to community opportunities.
Support can include:
Companionship – a cuppa, a chat, someone to listen without judgement.
Confidence building – encouraging people to leave the house, attend groups, or try new activities.
Connecting with community – helping residents find and access social groups, events, or activities in Blackpool that suit their interests.
Trusted referrals – linking people with safe, reputable trades and services when extra help is needed.
This service is ideal for people who feel socially isolated, anxious about going out, or lacking confidence in meeting new people. It’s also valuable for older adults, people with long-term health conditions, or those who have recently experienced life changes such as bereavement or moving home.
Our trained, DBS-checked team members offer support that is flexible and tailored to each individual, with a focus on building trust, confidence, and connection. Every paid session helps fund free or subsidised community projects, ensuring that more people can benefit.
